Hello my lovelies,
Today I want to show you how to create this kind of Floral Splendour, using the Procreate app.
You will need an iPad, Apple pen and Procreate app.
Please check my previous tutorials to get familiar with other designs, especially “Splendour 5”, where I am giving very detailed instructions and pictures.
I will be using “Texture Brushes for Procreate by BeeJayDeL”, which you can purchase online for 7$. I simply love them because they perfectly transform any design into a masterpiece, I promise :)
Let’s begin!
Just a reminder to draw each element of collection on the separate layers. For example Light Green leaves on one layer, Dark green layers on another separate layer and so on…
Prepare your drawing, either ready made or create your own. You can download many floral designs online. In one of the future tutorials I will show you how to create your own drawings, using photos that you can take during your holiday or a walk. This is how I create my own drawings, by taking pictures on my morning walks.
We will be using the Palette that comes with the Procreate, which is called “Campfire”. Brush - Monoline. Size - 4%. First, outline each leaf element and then fill in with the same colour.
First leave is ready.
Keep drawing.
All outlined and filled in.
Next, I will switch to a darker green colour.
Next, I will switch to lighter green and I will draw branches and small buds. So, I will be using a total of 3 shades of different greens.
You can see in this picture which greens I used on which flowers.
Next, I will draw flowers. I will be using 3 different shades on each flower. Once again, Brush - Monoline, Size - 4%.
Here, I’ve done all the flowers.
Next, I will be using 3 shades of beige colours for these tiny flowers.
JUST A REMINDER, BEFORE DOING “SHADING”, SWITCH ON “ALFA LOCK”, AND AFTER FINISHING ALL SHADINGS, SWITCH OFF “ALFA LOCKS”, OTHERWISE YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO DO BEAUTIFUL AND NEAT OUTLINE.
Next, download BeeJay’s Brushes and load into Procreate. I will be using “Feathered Crosshatch” for the Green leaves that we drew first.. Size of the Brush - 3%. Just keep shading with the darker shade of green from the top direction to the bottom. Leave some empty space in the middle of the leaves and at the bottom.
This is how “1st green leaves” look after the shading.
Next, I will switch the brush to the “Scales”, size - 1%, opacity - check the picture.
I will use light yellow colour to make decorations inside each leaf.
All “1st green leaves” are done.
Next, I will use the same “yellow” colour but with the brush “Monoline” to highlight those decorations inside each leaf. This is a close up.
Next, I will use lighter green colour for shading and Brush - Scales.
Keep shading “3rd leaves”, which are light green colour.
Next, do shading for the Flowers.
Next, I will outline every green element with this kind of orange colour, using Monoline Brush, 1% size, new separate layer.
Here is a bigger picture, where you can see all elements. You can switch off "your initial black outline layer because we don’t need it anymore. Let’s keep everything clean.
Done. I decided not to touch further Flower elements, because they look beautiful on their own without any outlines.
And this is a Palette I used, which comes with the Procreate app.
It was easy, right? :))
Until next time with more Splendours.
With love,
Marina.
